ChangeLog
Short: AmigaMARK - Benchmark Suite Author: Rupert Hausberger <natmeg(!)gmx.net> Uploader: Rupert Hausberger <natmeg(!)gmx.net> Type: util/moni Version: 1.2 Architecture: ppc-morphos Replaces: util/moni/am1.001_base.lha; util/moni/am1.001_aos.lha; util/moni/am1.001_mos.lha Description =========== About 1-2 years ago (yr.2000) I started thinking about overclocking my amigas, but there was no program available to analyise and compare the differences. So I started to code some litte functions. First I only did different memory things, testing some different ram-types with these functions. As I used these functions every day I decided to build a little GUI around them. Then I wanted to know how good my processor is and how good my drives are. I added more tests... Soon I noticed that BGUI realy sucks, so I changed the GUI-stuff to MUI. Again I added more stuff. I saw that this piece of software was growing every day and I thought that I should make it useable to others. I thought there must be a way to compare results from different machines and also a way to show them in a kind of display. So I started to design the module-mechanism and the colourfull display.... Yea, what to say... end of the story, AmigaMARKS was born :) Features ======== - Processor-, Memory- and Harddrive-analysing - Graphical comparison of results and modules - Module-based saving and sharing of results via Internet - Scoring of system-power on a percentage-scale - Benchmark-report in TXT-format - Individual settings for each test - Support of Direct-SCSI - Support of NSD-64 Processor : Bogomips BYTEmark Dhrystones 40th Fibonacci number FPU query libJPEG functions IBM-mars cipher MD5 checksuming MP3 -> CDDA audio convertion [1] IBM-serpent cipher ZLib functions Memory : CPU-cache read Fast-RAM read/write Chip-RAM read/write [2] Copy memory [3] Initialize memory [3] Allocate memory [3] Hardware-ROM read [2] Harddrive : Read/Write Create Open Close Delete Rename Seek in file Set comment Set filesize Set protection Directorie scan Read/Write [4] Seek [4] SpinUP [4] [1] Needs mpega.library [2] Not avail in MorphOS-version [3] Some parts not available in MorphOS-version [4] Through direct-device-access [direct-scsi] Requirements ============ - AmigaOS 3.x /MorphOS 1.x - 1 MB Chip-RAM - 18 MB Fast-RAM - 20 MB Harddrive-space - xen.font 11/13 - mpega.library v2.4 [optional] - TextInput.mcc Installation ============ Installation is very simple.
